A College Park woman talks about her terrifying ordeal after walking in on a couple of robbers in her home.
The victim tells Channel 2 Action News when she returned home after running an errand, she discovered her door broken and then two men ambushed her in the back yard.
"Because I was in the back, no one could hear me. They had me muzzled. I couldn't scream, I couldn't yell," she said.
"They started to beat me over the head and make me stop," she said.
She said while one man held her down, the other man ransacked her house, stealing electronics, jewelry, anything of value. They planned on leaving in her Honda but they did not know how to drive a stick shift.
"He wanted to know how to put it in reverse. I told him how to put it in reverse. He said the car won't move for me, it won't move. He said, I don't know how to drive a stick. What I am doing wrong? He said if you don't tell me, I'm going to kill you," she said.
She said they became angry, throwing her on the bed and tying her up.
"He found a phone cord and he tied my legs with the belt and said don't move. If you move, I'll come back and I'll kill you," she said.
They finally gave up and ran off.
She said this is the second time her house has been broken into.
"I don't think I was as frightened as I was angry," she said.
Homeowners say they're meeting with police later this month to put together a neighborhood watch program.
