Ad campaign targets texting drivers

A new major ad campaign is being launched that targets texting while driving. The study comes after new evidence shows that warnings against texting while driving are not sinking in.

Two recent studies indicate that most Americans know that texting and driving is dangerous but they continue to do it anyway. The studies by Liberty Mutual and Students against Destructive Decisions  finds that more than half of high school students said they text while driving but they are sending fewer text messages to friends and more to their parents.

This new ad campaign from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is called Stop the Texts...Stop the Wrecks. It is aimed at 16 to 24 year olds and the message is simple: when you text and drive you are not multitasking you're driving blind.
