Grady student injured in self-inflicted shooting

A shooting took place at an Atlanta high school on Wednesday morning, according to city police.

“(It) appears (a) student has a self-inflicted wound to the thigh,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told Channel 2 Action News.

Police said there is no gunman on the loose.

School police confiscated the gun, and the injured student was taken to Grady Hospital for treatment, Atlanta Public School officials said on Twitter. The student's condition is unclear.

School officials said there are no reports of other suspects involved.
