Bond set for resident in Jonesboro home invasion

Bond has been set for the Clayton County woman arrested during a home invasion at her residence earlier this week.

Ednecdia Johnson faces several felony charges after police discovered at least 50 fake state identification cards at the upscale Jonesboro house she was renting. Machines to make those cards were also found in the home, along with two handguns.

Johnson's bond has been set at $32,500, and she told a judge Thursday that she believes she can pay it.

The judge said the charges include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal possession of forgery devices and making false statements.

Johnson was convicted on bank fraud charges back in 2004.

The incident started early Wednesday morning after a call to police about a home invasion at the house at 9154 Betony Wood Trail.

"This incident was not a random act of violence in a quiet community. It appears this incident took place due to criminal activity that was transpiring at this home," Clayton police spokesman Sgt. Otis Willis III said in a news release issued Wednesday night.

Police told WSB's Richard Sangster two men kicked down the door to the home.

Johnson's alleged accomplice and roommate Marcus Lively also faces charges. He remains in the hospital after being shot in the hand during the home invasion.

One of the two invasion suspects in the case was also shot -- grazed in the head -- and was caught by police. A second suspect got away.

During the shooting investigation, Clayton County called in the Secret Service and the Department of Revenue to assist them.
"The home contained several credit card processing work stations, safes, jewelry, several luxury cars and approximately $200,000 in cash," Willis said in the news release.

An internet search of the address showed that the home near Lake Spivey is for sale. The six-bedroom home has an asking price of $1.8 million.

"We have no street lights," neighbor Dena Parris told Sangster. "The houses are so far apart. It makes me very scared."
