A worldwide bakery company is relocating its global headquarters to Sandy Springs, and will create 120 jobs for the area.
CSM Bakery Solutions is an international leader in its industry, producing several bakery ingredients, products and services. The company will invest more than $5.5 million dollars into the Sandy Springs economy.
Governor Nathan Deal says "Today's news is an affirmation that our pro-business climate is gaining global recognition."
CSM's facility in Sandy Springs will consolidate several regional functions into one central location. More than 800 people will be employed at the Sandy Springs facility. These will be new and relocating employees. The move should be complete by the middle of 2016.
The facility will also include a Customer Experience Center where CSM will showcase its culinary expertise and many of its products.
CSM President and CEO Robert Sharpe says "We’re very grateful to the state of Georgia and the city of Sandy Springs for their collective efforts and generosity in helping to bring CSM Bakery Solutions’ global headquarters to the Atlanta area." Sharpe says "Critical in our decision were the area's transportation infrastructure, schools, cost and quality of housing, and business-friendly atmosphere – all in support of our multicultural workforce."
CSM is one of the largest players in the baking industry with revenues of about $3 billion. It has more than 45,000 global customers and employs over 8,500 people around the world.
Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul says "Moving a company’s headquarters is not a simple undertaking. We appreciate the confidence CSM Bakery Solutions has in both the state of Georgia and the city of Sandy Springs to provide the ingredients needed to connect with its customers and build long-term growth."
CSM serves customers in over 100 countries. It provides specialized ingredients including dry mixes, fillings, icings, glazes, mélange, toppings, batter, frozen dough and more. It also provides finished products including cakes, donuts, muffins, brownies, cookies and specialty bread.
