Absentee ballot count begins in Athens

With two weeks until the November 3 election day, the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections says the process of counting absentee ballots is underway.

Pursuant to the State Election Board Emergency Rule 183-1-14-0.7-.15, Processing Absentee Ballots Prior to Election Day, this notice is to inform the citizens of Athens-Clarke County that the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections will begin processing the Absentee Ballots cast in the November 3, 2020 General Election. Dates and times for processing are:

Oct 26-30 9am to 5pm

Oct 19-24, 10am to 4pm

Nov 2 10am to 4pm

Nov 3 10am to completion

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(3), the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections wish to inform the citizens of Athens-Clarke County that the Early Scanning/Tabulation process of the Absentee Ballots cast in the November 3, 2020 General Election will start at noon until 4pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (October 28-30) and commence on the following days: Monday, November 2 from noon until 4pm and Tuesday, November 3 from 10am until completion. Tabulation and adjudication of any rejected ballots will take place on Election Day at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities Building located at 2555 Lexington Road in Athens-Clarke County.
