Enrique Delos-Reyes was off from Smoke 911 last Wednesday night.  But, as always, he was helping someone out.

"He wasn't supposed to be working," says Gretchen Steed, the store's general manager.  "We had an employee who was a no call, no show for two days and he (Delos-Reyes) stepped up and took over the shift.  He never complained."

Delos-Reyes was shot and killed while working at the Woodstock store during what police say was a robbery.

Another person, a customer, was also in the store but took cover and was not harmed.

Delos-Reyes, 20, lived in Woodstock and was remembered by friends and co-workers as just a good, smart guy who will be deeply missed.

"It was his energy," Steed tells WSB. "If you were around him he just had that energy that you wanted to be around."

The two suspects in the murder are still at large.  A reward has been posted by Smoke 911 and by a nearby smoke shop, as well.

The funeral for Delos-Reyes is set for Friday.  The owner of the store is picking up the expenses.
As for friends like Steed, the death and the way he died makes absolutely no sense.

"I'm shocked," she says.  "I still keep thinking I'm going to here that he's okay."
