Great options to celebrate New Year’s Eve around metro Atlanta

(ATLANTA, Ga.) — With so many ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve around the Atlanta area, we thought we’d highlight some of them here.

The Peach Drop - Underground Atlanta, 50 Upper Alabama Street, Atlanta, GA 30303

After a three year hiatus, the Peach Drop returns to Underground Atlanta. The event will be hosted by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and will feature live music from Jermaine Dupri with special guests Da Brat, Jagged Edge and YoungBloodZ. The stage opens at 6 p.m. and the peach drops at midnight. The party is free.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl - Mercedez-Benz Stadium, 1 AMB Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

The #1 Georgia Bulldogs take on #4 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game begins at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $230 to $1,000 from Ticketmaster.

Stone Mountain Park Kids’ Early New Year’s Eve Celebration - Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Blvd, Stone Mountain, GA 30083

This family-friendly event lets you ring in 2023 and still get to bed relatively early.

The early countdown begins at 8:59 p.m.

At the stroke of 9 p.m., snow and fireworks usher in the early New Year.

Tickets are $39.95 for ages 12 and older and $34.95 for children ages 3 to 11.

Indigo Girls with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra - Atlanta Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

The concert was supposed to happen on New Year’s Eve last year, but was postponed.

They’ve been called one of the finest folk duos of all time.

Amy Ray and Emily Saliers perform with the Atlanta Symphony at Atlanta Symphony Hall.

The show begins at 8 p.m. and ends before midnight.

There are only a handful of tickets available on ground level, but there are a number of tickets as low as $39.50 per ticket (plus fees) in the loge and balcony.

Georgia Aquarium New Year’s Celebration - Georgia Aquarium, 225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Unfortunately this one only gets an “honorable mention” because this year’s event is already sold out.

But plan ahead to get your tickets early for next year’s event.

General admission tickets are $125 and include “light bites” from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., four alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink tickets, live music, a midnight countdown, access to the main galleries until 11:30 p.m. and a midnight snack.
