Cobb authorities looking for 'The Trash Bomber'

An effort to bring the reign of trash terror to an end.

Police are asking Cobb residents to be on the lookout to help them track down the culprit they're calling "The Trash Bomber."

The 'trash bombs' are bags of cut up newspapers and magazines, tossed alongside the road so the contents will spill out and are then blown around by the wind.

Been a problem for more than a year now, though these incidents seem to have picked up recently, especially along South Hurt Road near Smyrna.

"Its very irritating .. very puzzling," says neighbor Chad Williams. "Nobody can figure out what the objective is, who gets pleasure out of it and who they're actually targeting," Williams told Ch 2 Action News.

There have been close to 50 locations where these bags have been dropped.
