Another damp day in Metro Atlanta but the more widespread and heavier rain comes tonight and the first half of tomorrow.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH from 7pm Thursday until 7pm Friday.
Rain amounts today only a tenth of an inch or so on average, but total rain amounts next 48 hours will average 1.5 inches with isolated 3 inch plus totals.
A slow moving southern storm system continues to produce a variety of hazards from snow/ice to heavy rain. Icing and eventually snow plague parts of the southern Plains with extremely difficult travel conditions from north-central Texas through Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas. Heavy to excessive rain remains the focus across the south, as flood watches stretch from southeast Texas to Georgia.
