Sudden taste of winter

No big change in the weather story from my past two blogs. The big weather change advertised since a week ago today is here.

This first freeze is weeks later than normal.

Beware a spotty power outage with falling trees from gusty winds and soggy soils. We had a wind gust of 45 mph early morning. The rest of the day NW winds gusting to around 30 mph at times, diminishing some tonight.

Temperatures will change little during the daylight hours and fall tonight to lows of 25-28 with a WIND CHILL FACTOR around 19 early tomorrow morning.

A few scattered light showers return late this afternoon and mix with or change to snow flurries in some areas by evening and overnight anywhere North of a Carrolton to Athens line but no accumulation on roads for metro Atlanta. Most of us will not see anything. (Best chance of accumulation North of Canton)

A spot or two in the mountains could get snow accumulation of an inch or so.
