Mild and Dry Early this Week, Tracking Next Chance of Rain

Mild conditions are setting up across Metro Atlanta, with temperatures gradually rising to the mid to upper 70s through mid-week.

High pressure moving over the Southeast is producing mostly clear skies, with cool and dry air filtering into North Georgia.

Afternoon highs will slowly step up through the first half of the week, running close to the average high for mid-October.

Morning lows will stay 5 to 10 degrees below average, gradually warming through the course of the week.

However, temperatures will swell slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, as warm and humid air surges into Georgia ahead of a cold front.

The cold front will arrive late Thursday afternoon, sparking up a few rain showers Thursday evening and continuing into Friday morning.

However, moisture content in the atmosphere will remain limited over Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, which means rainfall totals will only amount to 0.10″ to 0.25″ throughout the region.

Even with the paltry rainfall amounts, this is the most rain the region has received since October 3-7, when as much as 3-5 inches of rain fell throughout North Georgia.
