Just in Time for Fall: Big Cool Down on the Way

A pesky tropical airmass arrived in North Georgia last week, soaking the Metro Atlanta area with warm and humid conditions as well as heavy rain showers.

The First Day of Fall arrives on Wednesday, September 22, and a cold front will arrive just in time to usher in MUCH cooler and drier air to North Georgia!

The average high for September 22 in Atlanta is 82 degrees, and the average low is 64.

The forecast for Wednesday calls for a high of 79 and a low of 68.

However, a surge of cool, dry air will arrive Thursday morning, and sunrise temperatures will tumble to the low 50s! That is a drop of 10-15 degrees Thursday morning compared to Wednesday, and that trend will continue into the weekend.

The cold front means dry air will surge south, providing plentiful sunshine in the afternoons and clear, starry skies at night.

All in all, after such a wet and soggy start to the week, there indeed is “sunlight” at the end of the tunnel!

Enjoy, and Happy Fall, Y’all!
