Another round of heavy rain will move through Metro Atlanta this week, with the earliest rain showers arriving in the western half of the Metro area around 8pm.
However, widespread heavy rain showers will arrive around midnight, and these showers and storms will continue to push through the region during the Wednesday early morning commute.
The animation below shows the futurecast radar imagery for Metro Atlanta. A line of heavy rain showers and thunderstorms will move through the region between 2am and 7am.
Rainfall will be quite heavy as this line moves through Metro Atlanta. As much as 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected, though locally heavier rainfall amounts are possible where the line slows down.
The rain will move out of Metro Atlanta by 8am, and the rest of Wednesday will feature dry conditions with afternoon highs in the mid 60s. A blast of cold air will arrive Wednesday evening, and Thursday morning lows will dip into the 30s.
