Beware black ice or other icy patches in Metro Atlanta

Bridges and overpasses ice first but many roads dry out.

Unfortunately there is enough moisture on the ground in some areas to worry about ice forming on roads this morning in spots as the polar cold front moves through. Ice reports may get worse before they get better.

That does NOT mean all of Metro turns into an ice rink but there will be problem areas where roads don’t dry fast enough, but MOST will dry.

Temps started the day above freezing but will now be dropping and road temps will follow.

Any snow shower or snow flurries will not last or matter, they mark the arrival of the polar cold front moving through our area as of 5am it will quickly pass through the area.

Temperatures into the 20s this morning then returning above freezing after about 2pm give or take, they fall back below freezing by 7pm.

Latest traffic and road conditions live all day as always on 95.5 WSB RADIO. Largest and best traffic team and the only one with airborne coverage.

BTW we may go through this again Friday morning. More on that in the days ahead. Stay tuned.
