Just like that, it’s over. The Braves lost a hard fought Game 7 of the National League Championship Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3 in Arlington, Texas Sunday night.
The Dodgers' Cody Bellinger hit a solo home run in the 7th inning to break a 3-3 tie for the eventual winning margin.
The Braves led the contest 2-0 through 2 innings, with an RBI single from Marcell Ozuna in the 1st, and a Dansby Swanson homer in the 2nd.
The Dodgers tied it 2-2 in the 3rd, but the Braves re-took the lead in the 4th on an Austin Riley RBI single.
That held until Enrique Hernandez' solo home run in the 6th to tie it, setting the stage for the Bellinger homer in the 7th.
The Braves were hoping to make their first World Series since 1999. The Dodgers return to the Fall Classic for the third time in four seasons.
