A male contestant on the game show Wipeout died on Wednesday after going into cardiac arrest following the completion of all course obstacles. The man’s name and age were not released.

“We are devastated to have learned of his passing and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family,” a TBS spokesperson said in a statement.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the man needed medical attention after completing the course Wednesday. On-site emergency personnel responded, and paramedics were called, Variety reported. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died, the website reported.

All “Wipeout” contestants undergo medical exams before they are cleared to participate, Variety reported.

“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time,” Endemol Shine North America, the show’s production company, said in a statement.

The news was first reported on TMZ.

Production for the show was suspended on Thursday and Friday, Entertainment Weekly reported. Show officials said a break was planned because of Thanksgiving, but production was expected to resume the week after the holiday, the website reported.

“Wipeout” is a reboot of the ABC game show that aired from 2008 to 2014. In September, TBS announced it was bringing back the show, with WWE star John Cena and “Nailed It!” star Nicole Byer serving as hosts, Entertainment Weekly reported.
