Chaos at the Capitol: Rioters were ‘provoked by the president and other powerful people,’ McConnell says

Preparations continue for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration amid ongoing fallout from the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol as lawmakers were gathered to ratify Biden’s 2020 presidential election win. Five people died as a result of the unrest, including a Capitol police officer, and dozens of people face charges.
