The two former boxing champions, both in their 50s, met in an eight-round pay-per-view exhibition bout, billed as “Frontline Battle.”

Tyson was the aggressor throughout the fight, scoring effectively with body shots. Two hooks to the body in the fourth round appeared to hurt Jones, and Tyson backed up Jones with a strong left hook in the fifth round.

The two fighters shared a hug after the bell rang to end the eighth round.

Tyson, 54, had not fought professionally since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005. The former heavyweight champion was once considered “the baddest man on the planet.”

Jones Jr., 51 had not had a significant victory since defeating Jeff Lacy in 2009, ESPN reported.

The rounds were 60 seconds shorter than usual -- two minutes, instead of three -- and the fight was sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission. The two boxers used 12-ounce gloves, CNN reported.

Tyson was expected to make $10 million in his fight against Jones, TMZ reported.

Tyson, 50-6 in non-exhibition bouts, is a former heavyweight world champion. He rinished his first year as a professional boxer with a 15-0 record, all by knockout. Jones Jr. (66-9) won his last fight against Scott Sigmon in 2018.

“Iron Mike” was 20 years, 4 months old when he became the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

In the co-main event Saturday, YouTube star Jake Paul scored a second-round knockout victory against former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Robinson (0-1) was knocked down in the first round rushing at Paul (2-0, 2 KO), who hit him just above the ear. Then, in the second round, Paul hit Robinson on the forehead to knock him down again, ESPN reported. Paul landed eight punches, with three of them leading to knockdowns.

Badou Jack (23-3-3) was dominant against Blake McKernan (13-1) in the only fight with a “name” boxer.
