Filmmaker Zack Snyder will be shooting additional scenes from his 2017 film, “Justice League,” and will use Leto, who played the Crown Prince of Crime in 2016′s “Suicide Squad,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Leto did not appear in “Justice League.”

Snyder left the film in early 2017 and “Justice League” had significant reshoots by filmmaker Joss Whedon, Variety reported. The Snyder Cut will run approximately four hours and will premiere on HBO Max in 2021, the website reported. It will air as a four-episode series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Shooting is underway with Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard, the website reported.

Leto’s inclusion in the longer version of the DC Comics film will mesh “Justice League” with Suicide Squad, which featured Affleck as Batman in a cameo role as he tried to defeat The Joker (Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), according to Variety.

Variety also confirmed that original “Justice League” producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will not be credited on the new Zack Snyder version.
