Giving Tuesday almost seems trite - we should give any day shouldn’t we? But nonetheless, this is a great day to celebrate the organizations that matter most to us and, even more importantly, support them. Here is a list of causes and organizations, in no particular order, that my wife Momo and I are supporting this year.

Giving is what we are called to do. If you need some ideas, here are a few.

Atlanta Community Food Bank - The WSB Triple Team Traffic Food Drive, supporting ACFB, is today (Tues, 11/30) from 4-7 p.m. at the Publix on Rucker Rd. in Alpahretta. ACFB is in dire need of non-perishable food and/or the monetary funds to feed the growing number of hungry people. Support the drive and learn more about it and ACFB here: https://www.wsbradio.com/events/fundraisers/charity/wsb-triple-team-traffic-food-drive/OaMZhyRTJmjjVnWtQA6lrO/

Clark’s Christmas Kids - Georgia’s foster kids have had a rough go and cases of child abuse were under-reported when schools were out during the pandemic. This giving tradition on 95.5 WSB is completely virtual this year. Join us on the air Dec. 8th/9th as we celebrate and help others. Find a wish list or simply give funds for “Santa’s elves”. https://www.clarkschristmaskids.com/?utm_source=cmg+&utm_medium=O%26O+Premium+Ads&utm_campaign=WSB-AM+300x250

Marine’s Toys for Tots - Kids need toys for the holidays and TFT uses your money to make sure wish lists for kids of all ages get filled. 96% of all funds go right to the cause. This has been the late Captain Herb Emory’s and the WSB Traffic Team’s favorite charity over the years. https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/forms/simple/Default.aspx

Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - We have done our Care-A-Thon each summer on 95.5 WSB in support of such a wonderful wing at CHOA. Help pay the bills of pediatric patients and support their families in these tough battles. It’s a state-of-the-art research center and fun place for the kids to hang out during treatment. https://give.choa.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1480&mfc_pref=T&1480.donation=form1&s_src=home

International Rescue Committee - Refugees have a tough plight and the situation in Afghanistan has caused a huge displacement and need. IRC helps families get relief and get back on their feet.

Heart for Africa - With emphasis on the continent with the most widespread poverty, Heart for Africa focuses on the Kingdom of Estwani and goes to great lengths to help orphans.

MedShare - Plenty of unused medical supplies get tossed. But MedShare collects and sorts every kind of medical item and instrument and distributes this bounty to those in medical need worldwide. Volunteer (great group event) or donate funds to help this fantastic cause. https://impact.medshare.org/give/195872/#!/donation/checkout

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) - FODAC collects used medical accessories and other health supplies and gives them to those that cannot afford them. Hospital surpluses or the extra wheelchair that a family no longer needs - they clean and organize it all in their Stone Mountain warehouse. And they need funds to keep it all going. https://fodac.org/donate/

Team Georgia - A safe and sober driving coalition, whose main mission is to sign people up to pledge to drive sober at major events. The sober driving booths have committed thousands of people over the last 30+ years. Captain Herb Emory was a founding member. https://www.gofundme.com/f/designated-driver-booth?utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer

Atlanta Humane Society - After a swell of animal adoptions early in the pandemic, the pendulum has swung the opposite way. Donate and help keep the shelter in top shape. Even better, adopt/foster a pet and give them a new start! https://secure.atlantahumane.org/site/Donation2?df_id=4485&mfc_pref=T&4485.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T&s_src=2021-11-GT-Will&s_subsrc=donate-button

Orphan Kitten Club - We have two rescue cats and a rescue dog. OKC’s main mission is stopping the killing of newborn kittens, which often are among the first killed at a shelter, because there are so many. https://orphankittenclub.org/donate/

Kudzu Cat Alliance - They trap, neuter, and return stray cats back to the outdoors to help stop them for reproducing more homeless cats. https://kudzucatalliance.org/support/

Lifeline Animal Project - We got two of our rescue cats from Lifeline. They do good work and strive hard to be a no-kill set of shelters. https://www.gagives.org/organization/Lifeline-Animal-Project

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Suicide is a huge problem and is often underlying and shocking when it surfaces. The daughter of one of our friends took their life this fall. ASPF runs a prevention hotline and provides other resources. https://supporting.afsp.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donate.event&eventID=8086&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2021GT_REV&gclid=Cj0KCQiAtJeNBhCVARIsANJUJ2GDA2Ot7xfq2jciNK4foffUvriaS8CQwV7KN7JgDOyuWnYWSjbYNU8aAnxiEALw_wcB

Decatur City Church - We attend Decatur City Church, which is a part of the larger North Point Ministries. Even people not of the Christian faith have appreciated this organization’s approach to very applicable questions of life. They also do a tremendous job with the Be Rich fundraising campaign that supports organizations local to the area campuses and to charities worldwide. https://decaturcity.org/give
