Schumer, 40, said he had surgery to remove her appendix and uterus as a result of endometriosis, People reported.

According to the Mayo Clinic, endometriosis is an often painful disorder. Tissue similar to that found inside the uterus grows outside of it. The condition commonly involves a woman’s ovaries, fallopian tubes and tissue lining the pelvis.

Schumer shared a photo and video on Instagram after surgery detailing her procedure, according to “Today.” In the social media post, Schumer shared a photo of herself in the mirror posing in a hospital gown. She also posted a video taken by her husband, Chris Fischer, explaining the surgical process, according to “Today.”

“It’s the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and my uterus is out,” Schumer said. “The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis had attacked it.”

This isn’t the first time the “Snatched star -- who was also diagnosed with adenomyosis -- has given candid updates about her endometriosis pain and fertility, People reported.

In August 2020, Schumer talked about the risks of trying to have a second child when she appeared on “Sunday Today with Willie Geist.” She and Fischer welcomed son Gene David, 2, in May 2019, according to People.

“We did IVF (in vitro fertilization), and IVF was really tough on me,” Schumer said in the 2020 interview. “I don’t think I could ever do IVF again.

“I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again,” Schumer added. “We thought about a surrogate, but I think we’re going to hold off for right now.”
