NEW YORK — Brooke Shields reached back into her past to help make her daughter’s prom night special.
The “Blue Lagoon” actress, 56, dug into her wardrobe and gave daughter Rowan Henchy, 18, the strapless red gown she wore to the 1998 Golden Globes ceremony, People reported. That was the year Shields earned her second nomination for the situation comedy “Suddenly Susan.”
Shields shared a photo of herself and Rowan in an Instagram post on Saturday.
“I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom,” Shields wrote in her post. “Proud mama!”
She shares daughters Rowan Henchy and Grier Henchy, 15, with her husband, screenwriter Chris Henchy, 57, People reported. The couple married in 2001, and the family lives in New York City.
Two weeks ago, Shields celebrated Rowan’s 18th birthday with photos of them together when her daughter was a toddler, ET Canada reported.
