Spring weather creating improved conditions for Atlanta road projects

While Georgia’s “Shelter-In-Place” efforts against the COVID-19 virus limit travel in the Atlanta area, the springtime weather is helping to improve the conditions for road work projects this weekend. If you are essential to the local workforce, please be mindful of travel conditions along the expressways, and watch for weekend work crews still expanding and improving the area’s highways and side streets. We want all Georgians to stay safe at home and along the roads!

Road repairs are slated to restrict lanes in Sandy Springs for I-285 at the Georgia/400 Corridor project between Roswell Road (Exit 25) and Chamblee-Dunwoody Road (Exit 30). Exit ramps along 400 and I-285 may be blocked at fluctuating times. Also expect multiple lanes to be blocked on I-285 from Sandy Springs at New Northside Drive (Exit 22) to Cobb Parkway (Hwy. 41, Exit 19) in Cobb County during overnight hours. Work along I-285’s west side perimeter between Camp Creek Parkway (Exit 2) and Highway 166/Campbellton Rd. (Exit 5) in both directions may create delays north of the airport exits while work in Clayton County will affect the I-75 exit ramps for I-285/West (Exit 238).

*All construction is as GDOT reports it and is weather-permitting. All times, lanes blocked, and locations could change.
