Most significant road work will take place in the overnight hours on I-285 both ways between Smyrna and the Airport, GA-400 both ways in Sandy Springs, on Abernathy Rd.’s ramp to GA-400/nb (detours in place for that), and I-75/sb in Kennesaw.

See below for closures and events that will impact the daytime ride, including I-285 construction in Dunwoody, festival closures in Chamblee, Roswell, Milton, and south DeKalb, and a building implosion in Midtown on Saturday morning.

• DeKalb Co.: I-285/wb (Outer Loop) from Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. (Exit 30) to Ashford Dunwoody Rd. (Exit 29), right lane, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Expect moderate delays.
• Atlanta: Georgia Tech and Georgia State University each have Saturday afternoon home games at 4 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. that will add to the delays on the Downtown Connector (I-75/85), I-20, and nearby roads.
• Fulton Co.: Roswell Wine Fest…Hwy. 9/Alpahretta Hwy. closed from Roswell St. to Magnolia St., 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Detours in place.
• DeKalb Co.: Taste of Chamblee…Peachtree Rd. shut down to thru traffic b/t Pierce Dr. at N. Peachtree Rd. for most of the day Saturday. The event is from 4-8 p.m. Take Peachtree Blvd. or New Peachtree Rd. as alternates.
• Atlanta: Building Implosion…W. Peachtree St. and Spring St. each closed from 17th St. to 16th St., from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. Take Peachtree St. as an alternate.
• Fulton Co.: Crabapple Fest…Hwy. 372 shut down from Itaska Walk to Mayfield Rd. from 6:30 p.m. Friday to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Detours in place.
• DeKalb Co.: Breast Cancer Awareness Walk…Flat Shoals Pkwy./eb from Woodberry Pkwy. to Snapfinger Rd., from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. Take River Rd. as an alternate.
