Hot weather will impact weekend road work, contributing to potentially scorching delays in Metro Atlanta.

Lane restrictions are planned for all directions by the I-285/Georgia-400 corridor project in northern Fulton County.

More road work delays are expected in Clayton County along the south side of I-285, from west of the airport tunnel to Jonesboro Road (Exit 55).

Paving work on I-20 in Douglas County, and on I-75 by Bill Gardner Parkway (Exit 212) in Henry County are projected to block lanes during overnight hours.

Watch for heavy traffic in Downtown Atlanta for music and “football” events. Georgia Tech hosts The Citadel in NCAA Football at Bobby Dodd Stadium while Atlanta United plays Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Saturday. The Atlanta Falcons take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in NFL action Sunday.

Delays on side streets by Atlanta’s Piedmont Park are expected with “Music Midtown 2019” performances scheduled all day on Saturday and Sunday.

ROAD WORK ZONES:

• Sandy Springs: Georgia/400 North ramp to I-285/East (Exit 4A), Abernathy Road (Exit 5B) and Abernathy Road/West may be blocked during overnight hours.
• Sandy Springs/Dunwoody: I-285/East and West, between Glenridge Drive (Exit 26) and Ashford Dunwoody Road (Exit 29). Multiple lanes blocked during overnight hours.
• Cobb Co.: I-75/North at Chastain Road (Exit 271) left lanes blocked during overnight hours.
• Cobb Co.: I-285/South from Cobb Parkway (Exit 19) to S. Atlanta Road (Exit 16) in left lanes during overnights.
• Fulton Co.: I-285/North before Washington Road (Exit 1) to Camp Creek Parkway (Exit 2) in right lanes during overnight hours.
• Fulton Co.: I-285/South from I-20 to Cascade Road (Exit 7) in two lanes during overnight hours.
• Henry Co.: I-75/North at Bill Gardner Parkway (Exit 212) in two lanes, during overnight hours.
• Douglas Co.: I-20/East from Hwy. 5 (Exit 34) to Fairburn Road (Exit 37) in two lanes, during overnight hours.
• Gwinnett Co.: I-85/North by Hamilton Mill Road (Exit 120) in one lane, during overnight hours.
• Fulton/Clayton Co.: I-285/East before the Airport Tunnel to Jonesboro Road (Exit 55) in right lanes through the weekend.
• Atlanta: Piedmont Road between Peachtree Road and Roswell Road. Various lanes affected by paving work during overnight hours.
