Trump ready to resume campaign rallies this weekend

With his White House doctor clearing him for ‘public engagements’ starting on Saturday after treatment for the Coronavirus, President Donald Trump said Thursday night that he was hoping to hold a comeback rally in Florida on Saturday, followed by a stop in Pennsylvania on Sunday.

“I feel so good,” the President said in a Fox News telephone interview with Sean Hannity.

Hannity pressed the President on whether he had tested negative for the Coronavirus - but like reporters asking the same questions at the White House - there wasn’t really a direct answer provided.

“Probably the test will be (Friday),” the President said, “since there’s no reason to test all the time.”

It wasn’t immediately clear where the President might hold a rally in Florida, but Vice President Pence was already scheduled to hold events in Orlando and the Villages on Saturday.

“I think I’m going to try doing a rally on Saturday night if we have enough time to put it together,” Mr. Trump said.

“But we want to do a rally probably in Florida on Saturday night. Might come back and do one in Pennsylvania, the following night,” President Trump added.

The President has not held a campaign rally since September 30, the day after his first debate with Joe Biden, when Mr. Trump gave a shorter than usual campaign speech in Minnesota.

The next day, the White House announced he had tested positive for the Coronavirus, sending him to the hospital on Friday evening, where he spent 72 hours for treatment.
