You might be shocked to find out what our teenagers are doing while behind the wheel!

It seems teens understand the dangers of texting and driving but they don't seem to understand the dangers of doing other things that are distracting.

A study from Oregon State University has found that about forty percent of teens admit they text and drive,  that's actually lower than previous studies. It was the other activities that young drivers are taking part in while driving that has lead author David Hurtwitz worried. "There were a couple of pretty surprising responses," says Hurwitz.  Thirty-seven percent of the teenagers say they sometimes change clothes and shoes while driving. They also reported that they put on make-up, put in contact lens and even did homework while in the driver's seat.

Distracted driving is a leading cause of all accidents among all drivers and may be even more of an issue for younger inexperienced drivers.  While cell phones are still the biggest distraction this study clearly points out that there is a host of other distractions that can be just as deadly.
