On their way to Green Mountain Road, they had mechanical problems with their car and became stranded. They spent several hours trying to get the car unstuck, but were unsuccessful and had to spend the night in their vehicle in several feet of snow.

When the family hadn't returned home, another family member called 911 to report them overdue. A rescue team began searching for them.

This morning, the family began walking from the car to the main highway when a passerby saw them and drove them down the mountain. Search and rescue officials helped get the family's car unstuck and everyone was OK.
