Iowa woman uses stun device to rob hotel patron, police say

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — An Iowa woman is accused of robbing a hotel patron by using a stun device, authorities said.

Allia Skye Janning, 31, of Bayard, was charged with first-degree burglary in the Saturday incident at a Sheraton hotel in West Des Moines, KCCI reported.

According to court documents, Janning entered the victim's hotel room without permission Saturday. Police said Janning used a stun device on the victim before leaving the room, KCCI reported.

Police said they found Janning outside the hotel moments later, barely able to stand and holding the stun device, according to court documents. The officers took a breath sample and determined Janning had a blood-alcohol-content level of 0.219. The legal level in Iowa is 0.08.

Janning was arrested early Sunday and is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Polk County Jail, according to arrest records.
