Dylann Roof appeals convictions, death sentence in Charleston church shooting

White supremacist Dylann Roof on Tuesday has appealed his convictions and death sentence in the Charleston church shooting.

Roof opened fire on a Bible study group in 2015 at Emanuel AME Church killing nine black parishioners.

He was later arrested in Shelby, North Carolina.

In 2017, Roof was found guilty of 33 federal charges and sentenced to death.
