Chattanooga construction crew rescues basset hound from Tennessee River

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A construction crew in Chattanooga put in some overtime Wednesday morning, rescuing a basset hound from the Tennessee River, WTVC reported.

The dog, named Buddy, was trapped in some brush along the banks of the river, the television station reported.

The Hamilton County Special Tactics and Rescue Services team shared two videos on its Facebook page showing Buddy's rescue.

"Buddy, you're a lucky dog today," one worker can be heard saying in the video.

It is unclear how the dog got stuck in the brush by the river, WTVC reported.

Shout out to One of our own Jon Nash and his J Cumby construction co workers today helping to rescue a dog that was stuck in the Tennessee River. While our team wasn’t there we are proud of our L.T. and his crew today. Great Job!!!
