Atlanta police said they’re investigating a deadly shooting in the Sweet Auburn district of Atlanta.

A woman was shot at 171 Auburn Avenue northeast around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Police said she was able to get herself Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - Hughes Spalding Hospital but was later taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

She later died from her wounds, police said.

Major D’Andrea Price said the victim was visiting Atlanta from out of town.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. There is no suspect information at this time.

The shooting scene is in the area of several restaurants and shops, including the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and Grady Memorial Hospital.
