Multiple law enforcement agencies swarm downtown Atlanta after car crashes into light pole

ATLANTA, Ga. — Officers from several law enforcement agencies have flooded downtown Atlanta to search for a suspect who crashed a car into a light pole in front of the Fulton County courthouse.

Officers from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State University police swarmed the area looking for the suspect, who apparently left the scene. Some officers were carrying long guns and riot shields.

Police have not said if anyone is in custody or there is a danger to the public.

Elliot learned that the last time officers saw the suspect, the person was headed towards a parking deck at Auburn Ave. and Peachtree Center.

It’s unclear why the car crashed or what crimes the driver is suspected of.
