An extremely dangerous robbery in Cobb County has police looking for the suspect who got away.
WSB’s Pete Combs explains.
All robberies are dangerous… but this was perhaps the riskiest kind of all. Why? Because armored cars usually carry a lot of armed guards.
This could have ended very badly. In this case, Marietta Police Officer Chuck McPhilamy tells me a courier was getting out of his armored vehicle with a sack of cash at the QuikTrip on Powder Springs Road and Sandtown when, "A single suspect came up from behind the driver, snatched the bag of cash and fled on foot,” said McPhilamy.
Police cordoned off the area and searched for the suspect… but with no luck. He’s described as a black man with dreadlocks past his shoulders and a full beard… average height and weight… wearing khaki pants. If you see him… call 911.
