Heavy rain moving in through the evening commute, Freeze Warning in effect for some areas

ATLANTA — Most of metro Atlanta and north Georgia can expect heavy rain throughout the afternoon during their commute.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says there will be periods of heavy rain through the afternoon and into the early evening hours.

The rain will start to move out and make room for a cold front gradually through the evening.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says we can expect to be dry by around 11 p.m. Friday evening.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for neighbors in the northwest parts of metro Atlanta.

On Saturday morning, you can expect to start the day with temperatures in the 30s and a wind chill in the 20s.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Wet afternoon commute, the rain will continue into the evening.
  • Freeze Warning tonight includes the northwest metro area.
  • A freeze watch has been issued for all of our area Saturday night-Sunday morning.
