Georgia expecting its first shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Monday

The first shots of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccines are likely to be given out Monday. About six million doses are expected to be delivered across the U.S this week.

Georgia is expect to receive about 174,000 doses, which will help make up the 40,000 fewer doses the state expected this week from Pfizer.

Moderna shots don’t require the same ultra-cold storage as Pfizer’s, which need to be kept at around minus-94 degrees.

Moderna’s vaccines can be kept at about negative-4 degrees and refrigerated for 30-days before they expire.
