Several southbound lanes of Interstate 85 have reopened after a deadly shooting in Gwinnett County.

Police said one person was killed in the shooting on the interstate near Jimmy Carter Boulevard around 3 a.m.

Authorities are searching for the shooter who was in another vehicle. here is currently no description of the suspect vehicle.

Detectives are asking people to come forward and contact police if they have any information on the shooting.

Investigators blocked several lanes of the interstate as they investigated the shooting but reopened around 5:10 a.m.

This is the fourth interstate shooting this year.

On Feb. 25, a man was found shot to death inside of an SUV on I-20 at the Downtown Connector. Police are still searching for the killer.

On Feb. 10, two men were shot and one of them died on I-85 at the Peachtree overpass in Midtown Atlanta.

In January, a man was shot and killed on I-85 at North Druid Hills in DeKalb County.
