Atlanta Public Schools - The board on Monday voted unanimously to start school Aug. 24 instead of Aug. 10. The new date would give teachers and families more time to prepare for virtual learning. The board still needs to give final approval to the calendar change at its August meeting.
Clayton County Schools – Clayton County Public Schools will start the 2020-2021 school year with a mix of virtual learning and face-to-face learning. School begins Aug. 10.
Coweta County Schools – Coweta schools wil begin the 2020-21 school year on Thursday, August 6th with both in-person and online options for parents.
DeKalb County Schools – The board approved delaying the start of the school year to start on Aug. 17. Previously the school year was set to begin on Aug. 3. The district also took a survey of parents, students and employees about their comfort level returning.
Fayette County Schools – Parents of Fayette County students will be given the option to choose whether their children will return to the classroom or take part in virtual learning. School begins Aug. 10.
Forsyth County Schools – FCS will offer K-5 virtual for the opening of the school year. Parents need to make a decision by July 10. Grades 6-123 already have the option of attending Forsyth Virtual Academy. School begins Aug. 6.
Fulton County Schools – Fulton County Schools has announced that the school year will start 100% remotely on August 17.
Gwinnett County Schools – Gwinnett County Public Schools has announced that it will join most other districts in metro Atlanta and hold classes this fall online-only. The school year is set begin on Aug. 12th.
Hall County Schools – Hall County plans to return to in-person instruction on Aug. 7, but says it will work individually with families for whom that will not be possible.
Henry County Schools – Assuming the governor’s orders on schools do not change, Henry County plans to give parents two options -- returning to campus or remote learning. Parents need to decide before July 17. School begins Aug. 3.
Marietta City Schools – Marietta City Schools will allow parents to decide between in-person instruction or virtual learning. School begins Aug. 4.
Rockdale County Schools – Rockdale County will start the year virtually for all students on Aug. 24. The first official day of school will be Sept. 8. On that day, the district will begin with a hybrid model of in-person and virtual learning.
