A spokesperson said the director of food safety and senior operations leadership worked directly with the team at the Acworth store to make sure the company’s policies are in place.

Violations included the health inspector seeing a live cockroach and a dead one, mold in the ice machine and milk that was 11 days past its expiration date. The inspector also noted that the restaurant was in need of a deep cleaning.

“Our every day goal is to provide a positive experience for all of our guests, and we are sorry to have disappointed our customers in this case. Our team did take appropriate corrective action immediately during last week’s inspection for several of the identified issues.”

Waffle House also said the team is being coached to reinforce appropriate behaviors.

The restaurant will be re-inspected within 10 days of last Friday’s failing inspection.
