ATLANTA - Channel 2 Action News has new video of officers arresting a man after a chase through the streets of Atlanta. He's one of three people they arrested.
Police told Channel 2’s Lauren Pozen that the driver hit several cars during the chase, which ended along Griffin Street.
The chase started just after 1 p.m. Saturday, when officers saw a stolen vehicle in the area of Washington Place and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.
They tried to stop the driver, but he sped off.
Elisa Lindsey, a security guard at beauty store on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, told Pozen the stolen car ended up just feet away from where she was working.
“We had some customers that were trying to leave the store, so when I heard the boom, I definitely couldn’t allow them to leave. So, as I am walking out the door he hits this brick wall,” Lindsey told Pozen, showing her the damage left behind.
She said the driver wasn’t alone.
That pursuit ended on Griffin Street, when the stolen car crashed into other cars.
A Channel 2 Action News viewer shared video of police arresting one of the men. The video shows a man in the white shirt walk by an officer at the crash scene. He is quickly recognized by another officer, who then arrests him.
“My biggest concern was safety. The immediate public is safe, and I am happy the bad guys went to jail. That is all we worry about,” Lindsey said.
Police told Pozen that no one was hurt in the indent.
Three people were arrested but have not been charged yet.
