Braves honored at White House for ‘21 World Series title

It is a time-honored tradition for championship teams in many sports – a trip to the White House to celebrate a title. And today, the Atlanta Braves had their opportunity.

On Monday morning, President Joe Biden hosted the Braves at a White House ceremony, alongside other Atlanta leaders.

The ceremony was scheduled for 11:45 a.m. in the East Room, hours before the team opens a series in Washington D.C. against the Nationals.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, and U.S. Reps. Buddy Carter and Nikema Williams were also in attendance.

The visit was in celebration of the team’s 2021 World Series victory over the Houston Astros.

The Braves’ 2021 World Series championship was the franchise’s first since 1995.

Last week, our partners at The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that the Braves gathered to name a street at the Battery after Tim Lee, the late chairman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners who is credited with bringing the team to the county.
