ATLANTA — Police are trying to identify a pedestrian who was hit and killed early Sunday morning on I-285.
Police said the pedestrian was trying to cross the interstate and was hit by a car in the northbound lanes near Bolton Road around 4 a.m. The driver stayed at the scene.

After the initial impact, several other vehicles also struck the pedestrian but didn’t stop.
Police say the driver is not expected to be charged.
All lanes were blocked for several hours as police investigated.
