Former Vice President Joe Biden to campaign in Georgia on Tuesday

ATLANTA — Former Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Georgia on Tuesday, campaign officials said Saturday night.

The Democratic nominee for president will make stops in Atlanta and in the small town of Warm Springs in Meriwether County, officials said in a statement.

On Tuesday afternoon, Biden will deliver remarks in Warm Springs “on bringing Americans together to address the crisis facing our nation.”

“Vice President Biden will say that Americans have always come together to triumph and overcome, and that we can, must and will now again,” the statement said.

Biden will then host a drive-in event in Atlanta on Tuesday evening to encourage Georgians to vote. The exact time and location of that event has not been released.

President Franklin Roosevelt started to spend time in Warm Springs in 1924 to treat his paralytic illness. The town is know for its therapeutic mineral springs.

Roosevelt died there in 1945. The town of less than 500 people is now home to a world-renowned rehabilitation center.
