Just after clinching a spot in the playoffs, the Atlanta Braves have welcomed this season’s three millionth fan into Truist Park. This is the first time since 2000 that the Braves will welcome three million fans during the regular season, and the the sixth time in franchise history.
The record for the highest regular season attendance was in 1993 with 3,884,720.
There was no containing the joy felt by 25 year Braves fan, Anita Outlaw as she found out she was the recipient of a prize pack that includes getting to yell “Play ball” at the start of today’s game in addition to 2023 opening day tickets, a shopping spree at the Clubhouse Store, a custom jersey, free Chick-fil-A for a year, and the opportunity to be featured on a Braves billboard.
“Oh my God is all I can say,” said Outlaw as she found out that she was the lucky 3 millionth fan.
Braves Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales, Paul Adams, says that the selection was not exact, but they know they’ve crossed the mark.
“We’ll finish out this year at 3.1 million. It’s just amazing,” said Adams.
Anita Outlaw from Atlanta is the three millionth fan to walk through the gates here at Truist Park for this season. It was not an exact selection according to officials. She tells me she’s most excited to yell “play ball” this afternoon. @wsbradio pic.twitter.com/qw16UvmUou
