CARROLLTON, Ga. — A 70-year-old man was arrested and faces multiple charges after authorities say he was running an illegal distribution of opioid pills in his Carrollton home.

“Evidence suggests that North had effectively established a residential pill mill, selling these highly addictive substances from his home,” the Carrollton Police Department said.

North faces the following charges:

• Sale of Schedule II (Oxycodone)

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Oxycodone)

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Hydrocodone)

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV (Tramadol)

• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

“This investigation highlights the ACE Unit’s commitment to combatting the opioid epidemic and holding those accountable who contribute to the distribution of dangerous drugs in our community,” the Carrollton Police Department said. “The ACE Unit will continue to actively pursue those involved in illegal drug activities to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.”

Several law enforcement agencies collaborated during the investigation including the Carrollton Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s office, and University of West Georgia Police Department.
