After more than 4,400 cases of COVID-19 were reported Saturday, the Georgia Department of Public Health says there were 3,177 new positive cases to report Sunday. Following 71 reported deaths to start the weekend, 13 were reported Sunday.
Since the pandemic began, Georgia overall has 216,596 positive cases.
The United States Sunday passed the five million mark in confirmed cases – most of any country.
In Georgia, much of the focus in the past week has been on new reported cases in school districts. Paulding County system officials on Saturday reported six students and three staffers tested positive from its North Paulding High School.
