Her announcement came shortly after the U.S. House voted Wednesday to impeach President Donald Trump on a single charge of inciting an insurrection. Greene, a vocal supporter of Trump, voted against impeaching him.

A political newcomer, Greene was elected in November and represents Georgia’s 14th congressional district. Greene, in an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, said, “On behalf of the American people, we have to make sure that our leaders are held accountable. We cannot have a President of the United States that is willing to abuse the power of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies.”

Greene did not specify what the articles might charge Biden with.

Greene has also embraced QAnon, a far-right U.S. conspiracy theory centered around the debunked belief that Trump is fighting a secret campaign against “deep-state” enemies and a child sex trafficking ring of satanic pedophiles and cannibals.

In previous videos and posts, she has attacked everything from the Black Lives Matter movement to the use of facemasks to protect against the coronavirus.

The 14th congressional district seat opened up after Republican Rep. Tom Graves announced that he wasn’t seeking reelection.
