The Braves have signed Austin Riley to the most lucrative contract in team history. The contact will keep the All-Star third baseman under contract at least through the 2032 season, according to the team.

The 10-year contract is worth $212 million total and runs through 2032, with a $20 million club option for 2033.

Riley will make $15 million in 2023, $21 million in 2024, and $22 million over the remainder of the deal.

Riley, 25, has been one of the best players in MLB this season, batting .301 with 29 home runs, 68 RBI and a .964 OPS in 101 games this season.

Riley leads MLB in extra-base hits with 61 and recently made his first All-Star game appearance last month.

Riley was pivotal in the team’s 2021 World Series run, hitting two home runs, delivering a walk-off single in Game 1 of the NLCS vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers, and batting .320 in the World Series with 3 RBIs to help the Braves capture the team’s fourth World Series title.

Originally drafted 41st overall by the Braves in 2015 out of DeSoto Central High School in Southhaven, Miss.

Riley made his major league debut in 2019. He homered in his second career plate appearance and became the quickest Braves player in the modern era to reach double-digit home runs when he hit his 10th in his 26th career game.

Riley’s new contract comes the day after a walk-off single on Sunday, capping off an MVP-worthy July for the Braves third baseman. Riley set a franchise record for most extra-base hits in a month, surpassing the late legend Hank Aaron.

Riley also agreed to donate $2.12 million to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

A news conference with Riley and Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos will be held Tuesday at 6:05 p.m.
