VERY PROUD to have captainherb.net on the #93 Chevrolet of Chris Cockrum in the Daytona truck race Friday night.  The RockdaleCountydriver finished 16th in the unofficial results and his teammate Ryan Sieg was listed 15th.  Max Gresham finished 26th

The Unadilla Thrilla David Ragan was out of the Bud Shootout early in a crash-but his new Blue and White #34 was sored 14th in the Thursday Heat Race and will start 25th in the Daytona 500

 

Sorenson driving for Jimmy Means at Daytona: The #52 Chevy will be driven in Daytona’s DRIVE4COPD 300 byGeorgia native, Reed Sorensen. The talented driver wrapped up 2011 by finishing fifth in points for NASCAR’s Nationwide Series. Sorensen’s career in the series consists of four wins, two poles, and an outstanding 85 top-10 finishes. Sorenson also has seven years of Sprint Cup experience, which includes 15 top-10 finishes. Jimmy Means, owner of the team states, “Means Motorsports is certainly excited about our chances of getting off to a great start this season, especially when you consider Reed’s skills, experience, and the strong fifth place finish he had in last year’s event. We have had some success with sponsorship for the first race of the season and we can only assume the opportunities will increase with the addition of Sorensen as our driver.”

: #99-Carl Edwards won the pole for the Daytona 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway with a lap of 194.738mph for his first Daytona 500 pole and 11th career pole and it is Roush Fenway Racing’s 80th pole. Edwards is the 37th driver to win the Daytona 500 pole. #16-Biffle gets the outside pole and will start 2nd.

#7-Danica Patrick won the Coors Light Pole for the DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway with a speed of 182.741mph. She is the second woman to win a pole in the Nationwide Series (Shawna Robinson won the pole at Atlanta in 1994). #60-Trevor Bayne will start second. The rest of the top 10: #2-Elliott Sadler, #5-Dale Earnhardt, Jr., #3-Austin Dillon, #12-Sam Hornish, Jr., #33-Tony Stewart, #88-Cole Whitt, #22-Brad Keselowski, and #6-Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. #10-Jeff Green used the past champions provisional. Did Not Qualify: #89-Morgan Shepherd, #73-Derrike Cope, #42-Erik Darnell, #47-Scott Speed, #74-Mike Harmon, #46-Chase Miller, #76-Donnie Neuenberger.
